Laggan Wolftrax a perfect Easter visit
Mountain bikers looking for an Easter escape are invited to head out to Laggan Wolftrax for a day of top trail challenges!
To complement the fantastic facilities at the Laggan Wolftrax Centre and Café, Forest Enterprise Scotland has redesigned and resurfaced the car park to help make the site more welcoming and easier to access than ever.
Ian Hall, Chair of Laggan Forest Trust, that runs the Wolftrax Centre, said;
"Since the new centre has opened we've been steadily building our reputation as one of the hot spots for a great day of mountain biking.
"The Orange, Upper Red and Black trails offer some great challenges for mountain bikers of all abilities – and even if you've ridden the trails before, each ride is different. There are even some big berms and tabletop jumps in the bike park to get you warmed up.
"The spring weather is looking ideal for getting out and about – and with the superb views of the Monadhliath hills on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park, we're hoping lots of visitors will start to spread the word and kick start our busiest season yet!"
With over 20 miles (35 km) of purpose-built trails winding through Laggan Forest, there are some great routes to tackle. There is an easy-going green trail for the less experienced and steadily more challenging orange and upper red trails – as well as the famous black trail for those who demand something really technical.
Jack Mackay, for the Forest Enterprise Scotland team in the area, said;
"Laggan Forest Trust has worked really hard over the last few years to help build up Wolftrax as a must–visit location. To help them cope with the increasing numbers of riders who are making a day of it here, we've improve the car park, road access and site signage to make it easier to move around the site.
"It really is a great day's riding for anyone – and it'll be even better later in the year after we've carried out some post-harvesting work to improve the lower red trail."
