Fort William UCI Mountain Bike World Cup is cancelled
The Fort William UCI Mountain Bike World Cup on the 6th & 7th of June 2020 is cancelled.
Mike Jardine (one of the organizers) says: "The recent official confirmation that social distancing will be necessary for an extended period, together with current Government advice on travel and events means any hopes of running the June UCI World Cup in Fort William have ended.
We did investigate re-scheduling options with cycling’s governing body, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and other partners but no alternative viable dates could be found.
It would have been the 19th consecutive UCI World Cup in Fort William (in 2007 it was the UCI World Championships), with advance ticket sales indicating another amazing weekend of mountain bike action and excitement on the cards.
We are sorry to have to make this decision but I’m sure you can understand the reason why. Looking ahead, we anticipate the return of the World Cup in 2021 and 2022."
Those who purchased advance tickets can either get a full refund or have them allocated to a future event. You'll receive an email soon with the details on how to arrange this. Questions about your tickets can be send directly to raquel@nevisrange.co.uk
