TweedLove Enduros to partner with Pirelli

Eighteen months after TweedLove’s last MTB event, we’re back with some great enduro news, and a very positive attitude to bike life beyond Covid.

We have some awesome enduro news for the 2021 season - a new partnership between TweedLove and Italian tyre manufacturing supremos Pirelli. The deal means Pirelli become title sponsor of all three races in the 2021 TweedLove Triple Crown enduro series and also the legendary Glentress 7 MTB endurance/trail race.

TweedLove founder and director Neil Dalgleish said, “The Triple Crown enduros have been massively successful over the last few years and are among the UK’s best and most popular races. We’ve always strived to create the best courses and the highest quality of event production, so it’s fantastic to now partner with Pirelli – it’s such a legendary, world-class brand and will have a really positive impact on the events.”

The races involved, all based in the MTB mecca of the Tweed Valley are:

Despite Covid, all of these events have busy start lists, but some places are still available for most. Pirelli Vallelujah enduro sold out when it was first launched back in November 2019, but a waiting list is available and we also hope to add extra places. The Glentress Seven is a seven-hour endurance trail/xc race with a proper MTB riders’ course – solo spots are now sold out, but there are still pairs and trios available.

Matteo Brivio, of Pirelli Bicycle Division said, “We’re really pleased to be working with the TweedLove races! We’ve got a great relationship with the TweedLove team through our ongoing sponsorship with their Tour O’ The Borders road event, and know they’re going to bring that same enthusiasm to their enduro races too. Their Triple Crown race series is one of the best in the country, and we think the challenging riding conditions are a great match for Pirelli’s mountain bike tyres.”

Michael Braybrook from Extra UK (Pirelli’s Distributor) added, “We’ve really enjoyed working with Hillside Outside over the past couple of years, and we’ve seen interest in the brand both locally and nationally skyrocket. The TweedLove races have always been a firm favourite in the enduro scene and I couldn’t think of a better partnership than TweedLove and Pirelli Tyres - especially with the full range of Pirelli Scorpion MTB tyres, including Trail and Enduro, coming to the UK soon. 2021 looks like it’s going to be a great year for racing and something to really look forward to on the calendar!”

With all the indicators now pointing to a long-awaited return to sharing good times together on our bikes this year, now’s the time to start getting excited about racing and a return to normal bike life.

“We can’t wait,” said Neil. “The reason we started doing events in the first place was down to the positive vibes that bikes and sharing great riding experiences with other riders brings. Once we all get the OK to get out and ride together again, the positivity at these races is going to be off the scale.”
