Exploring the Pyrenees with Scotty Laughland
Stretching from the Mediterranean Sea all the way to the Atlantic Ocean lies a mountain range renowned for its natural beauty, towering peaks and diverse landscape – the Pyrenees. Reaching heights of more than 3.400 meters above sea level, the 500-km-long rugged and scarcely populated mountain range forms the natural as well as the actual border between Spain and France. And as if the promise of towering peaks and unique terrain wasn’t already enough to pique the interest of Scottish mountain biker and adventurer Scotty Laughland, the prospect of exploring ancient trails, towns and castles dating back millennia certainly added fuel to the fire.
Follow along as content creator and former EWS-pro Scotty Laughland journeys through the Spanish Pyrenees in search of adventure, natural riding and untamed backcountry singletrails. From the huge rock slabs and jagged ridgelines of Tremp in Catalonia to the medieval trails and spectacular dirt spines of Ainsa. And from the unique sunbaked clay formations in the desert-like landscape of Calatayud all the way to Hondarribia in the Basque country where the Pyrenees plunge into the Atlantic Ocean – this is one adventure to remember.
Scotty Laughland: “The Pyrenees are famous for their jagged peaks, alpine terrain, lush forests and beautiful landscapes. What they aren’t famous for, however, are chairlifts which means you’ve got to earn your turns in big, remote terrain. And that’s where Light E-Bikes come into their own. Thanks to the extra boost of the TQ-System, I can explore deeper, discover more and simply ride further and I can do all that without the noise of an e-bike on the way up or the weight of an e-bike on the way down. It just feels natural.”
What Makes the TQ-HPR50 System So Special
In essence, the TQ-HPR50 creates mountain bikes that let riders clock more downhills without a massive weight penalty. It creates Light E-Bikes like the Scott Voltage that are sleek, lightweight and let you explore deeper. E-Bikes that let you climb higher without weighing you down. E-Bikes that look, feel and sound like normal bikes but take you further. E-Bikes that enable riders like Scotty to go on bigger adventures, discover new trails and have more fun doing it.
Further information on TQ and the technology behind the HPR50 be found on tq-ebike.com.
