Actually, it did survive on rough terrain, I used it this weekend for almost sixty miles at Thetford, including doing the beast twice, it was a shocker to ride, but physically is totally intact. Now, if you are talking of extreme riding or rock-riding, then that may be a different story :-)
Lots of bounce, the bike is getting older now.. so the front shocks don't respond as they should. The whole shock mechansim is very heavy so less than ideal..
A 26 inch wheeled, thick tubed, full suspension mountain bike that will last forever, but not give a particularly pleasurable ride.. If you want a work-out, go for it.

I have since scrapped this bike for its parts... it was a true shocker, and not worthy of a high average..
