Looks pretty gorgeous 2bh... I've built one up pretty similar and I totally agree with you that with a decent amount of travel on the front then these bikes ride really sweet. Check mine out if you fancy it.

I have one these but not like that. Mine only has like 100mm Travel on the front. It is not nice with only 100mm and i think the geometry on mine is out cause of the forks. But apart from that they are good bikes, pretty light weight too.

I never liked the look of Marins, but you have enough kit on this to make my nephews scooter look apealing. So I have to give it a nine

i found this hard to rate, you have obviously put some time and work into it, painting it and building it up, but it looks a little strange. how much rear travel has it got? it looks like a bit of a mismatched frame for the forks. but as thats my only beef i will still give it a nine.

My bike had to be repaired and i rode this for a couple of weeks, apart from the tires (2.1 riding in the mud) I could get this down the trails faster than my norco and still do all the big jumps. You're probably right about the forks but i won't be riding it much more and she's still learning the basics of bike riding so should be fine. Does look slightly odd but rides great now i'm use to it.

4 inch travel, I suspect those forks might damage the headtube, I'd put the DJs back on it

Thanks for the rating, fox vanilla r shock on the back not sure on the length. It is a bit big for her but she seems to get on with it ok, i personally can't ride it, its a completely different ride to the norco. might put the marzocchi dirt jumpers back on it. Does look a bit odd but it's an old bike with new bits. No bits were bought speciallly for it either. most of the parts came from the norco and my (now put to rest) specialized p1.

i suspect its a little bit big for your wife too? the bars are rotated back and the seat right forward.

Built for my wife using a 2000 marin B-17 frame, Gold halo sas rims on DMR revolver hubs, V8 pedals, Halo mono minis, Marzocchi bombers off my Norco and DMR grips, finished off with a custom paint job by yours truly.
