Summary:
Great place to hone your freeride skills.
Review:
The freeride area's a little bit daunting at first but if you practice and work up to the bigger stuff you'll be doing it all within three or four visits (if you're any good). I also like the way they change the skinnies and jumps every now-and-then, it keeps it interesting.

Good place to learn your skills

There's somethin at chicksands for everyone. Only gripe is that all the stiffs crammed into one area and it can get a wee busy, otherwise, wicked.

Too much in too little space.

Everyone raves about he place and I admit that it is good but there are a few problems....
Over the years the main riders/builders have progresed so much that they're getting to be extremely skilled, ballsy riders and the stuff they build has progressed with them. Unfortunately there isn't much stuff there for novices to learn on.
Go on week days or during term time to make the most of the place as on the weekends it gets packed!
Having said all this the dual slalom track the new 4X track and the weird hip jump next to the northshore are all really worth the visit.
Aslo worth checking out the jumps if only to watch and pick up tips from the guys that ride there!
