Bristol Pump Track series gets underway this summer

British Cycling South are rolling out a mini series for under 16s with races and coach led activities at 3 of Velosolutions Pump tracks in Bristol.

Following on from a very successful standalone event last summer British Cycling’s regional team in partnership with local clubs and Access Sport will be delivering a series of events taking place at tracks across the city this summer.

Pump tracks are providing many areas with great local facilities to help get involved in the sport of cycling, Bristol has seen a huge number of these tracks developed across the city in recent years and the regional development team have been very keen to help enhance the offer to attract and retain young people’s interest in the tracks and sport.

The monthly series of events will start at the Hillfields track in East Bristol in May and supported by the local Access sport team who will be on hand to provide bikes and equipment for riders to borrow if they don’t have their own.

Children taking part in the events will have access to some coaching provided by British Cycling coaches before undertaking several racing opportunities that will include Time Trials and Pursuit style racing where the tracks allow.

There are two other dates confirmed in the south of the city for June and July as well as plans to finish the series in the North of the city in August in time for the World Cycling championships in Glasgow.
