Davagh Dig Day Announced!
20 May 2016 | By billy1979If you enjoy riding the Davagh Forest Trails and fancy joining like-minded mountain bikers to help give something back to the trails then the 'Davagh Dig Day' is for you!
On Saturday 18th June 2016, Mid Ulster District Council is calling on local mountain bikers to join members of the MountainBikeNI.com Trails Team to help carry out some major trail resurfacing on the Davagh Forest Trails in County Tyrone.
Focusing on trail surface repairs on 'Big Wig Jig' from waymarkers 16 to 17, Davagh Forest Trails Ranger, John Howard, is hoping for a good show of support from the local mountain bike community.
"We're very pleased with how the trails are holding up however we're now keen to lay some fresh stone in order to protect the trails during the busier summer months."
"We need to carry out these surface repairs regardless however if we can get a good crew of mountain bikers down to lend a hand then we should be able to complete the majority of work in one day and keep disruption to a minimum."
All tools and safety equipment will be provided as well as plenty of food and refreshments to help keep energy levels up!
Please email [email protected] for more information on how to get involved in the Davagh Dig Day on Saturday 18th June (Approx. times 10am - 4pm).
Please note, the first 20 people who register for the 'Davagh Dig Day' will receive an official Davagh Forest Trails buff!!
