Scottish Enduro Series Confirm POC to be Headline Sponsor for 3rd Year

The Scottish Enduro Series has today, Friday the 16th of  December, officially announced that POC will be headline sponsor for the third year in succession.

For three years the POC Scottish Enduro Series has delivered an awesome 6 races at 6 venues across Scotland. In 2016 that was 32 timed race stages, almost 2 hours of racing for the fastest riders, 834 Individual riders and 1710 race starters.  The series is now one of the longest established Enduro series in the country and few would argue with the claim that it is the UK’s premier enduro series.

Frazer Coupland from the Scottish Enduro Series, said: “Our success has been built on successful positive partnerships and we are delighted that POC will be working with us again, 2017 is already shaping up to be a great season and this news is evidence that our partnerships are working well.”

For 2017 the team will continue to work with destinations to ensure that the visiting participants get the best experience of each of the areas that will be visited, whilst also ensuring that local businesses are afforded the opportunity to maximize the economic impact from the visit of the series. The series continues to work well with Forestry Commission Scotland, along with other land owners and managers to ensure participants get the greatest riding experiences across Scotland and ensuring Scotland maintains its position as a global leading mountain bike destination.

In 2016 the series introduced, and will continue to use, the Sportident Air Timing System at all of the series events and continues to use a format style aligned with the Enduro World Series. For the competitor the Scottish series guarantees a balanced mixture of technical, physical and enjoyable stages and with the focus on fun and the enjoyment of riding bikes with like minded people whilst presenting professionally run, competitive and safe races.

The series kicks off in Fort William on 10 and 11 March, and early reports from the organisers are indicating that riders can expect some exciting changes in and around Leanachan Forest. The series is known for testing participants in some of Scotland’s well known enduro locations as well as offering opportunities to ride new venues and sample new trails like round two in 2017 being staged at Pifichie in April.

David (Spook) Munro from the series said: “I am looking forward to getting going. The trails at Nevis Range are always super; for 2017 we will be working with Forestry Commission Scotland to ensure sure round 1 will be brilliant.”
