Chain Reaction Cycles join Nukeproof Support Programme for 2013
27 February 2013 | By AngusMcIntoshChain Reaction Cycles have joined the Nukeproof rider support programme for 2013, backing home-grown riders Dan Sheridan, Chris McGlinchey and Ben Kennedy in the new CRC-Nukeproof-Ireland team.
Offering a full factory setup and racing on the company's new Pulse downhill bike, the riders will compete in the UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup which begins on June 8th in Fort William, Scotland. They'll also race the British Downhill Series, Irish NPS and a number of other select events.
Dan Sheridan can't wait to return to racing in his third season as part of the Nukeproof setup: "I'm really looking forward to getting on board the new Pulse bike and piloting it to some great results around the globe. I can't thank Nukeproof enough for their continued support and I definitely wouldn't be where I am now without it!
"The addition of CRC and the new team sponsors coming onboard for 2013 will make all the difference. I certainly have all the tools for the job; I'm now just counting down the days to getting on the new bike and racing! "Lastly a big thanks to my personal sponsors: Five Ten, Contour, 100% Goggles, Crunch Fitness and Eight.ie."
Chris McGlinchey said: "I am very excited to be riding for CRC-Nukeproof-Ireland this year. The continuous support from everyone involved over the past two years has been amazing and really helped me develop as a rider both on and off the track.
"It's great to have Chain Reaction Cycles involved and feel that with their added support I can obtain my goals for this season. I had a bit of a rough year last season missing some races due to injury and I am really excited to throw my leg over the new Pulse and show everyone what I can do!"
Another rider waiting in anticipation for the brand new Nukeproof Pulse is Ben Kennedy, who's set the bar high for results this year: "My goals for the 2013 season are to win the BDS overall and all the Irish races including the Irish champs in the Youth category. I also hope to have a healthy injury-free year.
"I am privileged to be on the CRC-Nukeproof-Ireland team for the 2013 season and I have gathered so much experience from last year riding and training with my team mates who I have looked up to from the start. For the 2013 season we will be running the new Nukeproof Pulse which I am so excited to start riding as they look amazing."
Chain Reaction Cycles' Marketing Manager Damien Duggan said: "This is going to be a really exciting year for Nukeproof, and CRC are excited to be part of what we hope will be a successful season for these young riders, who'll be travelling the world chasing top podium places. We've got a long history in supporting up-and-coming Irish talent, and we're sure the lads will do us proud."
