"I opted for these forks for my project build last year, I was converting an old Giant Rock that I bought for less than £50, into a town runner to commute to and from work. The forks needed to be v brake compatible and able to fit slick hybrid tyres as well as having a 1 1/8 steerer to fit the frame. I purchased the forks from Wiggle for £99.99 and you really do get a lot for your money (you can now purchase these forks for as little as 85.99 from fatbirds.co.uk). When the package arrived I thought the box must have been empty due to how light the forks were. Furthermore almost half a years worth of hammering through town they look as though they have just come out of the box. The original bike had Suntour M-2000 forks that weighed half a tonne. And with only 63mm of travel its hard to call them a 'suspension fork'. The maxlite fork was the best modification I made during the build, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to build themselves a cheap and very lightweight commuter bike. Overall the Kinesis Maxlight XLT MTB Fork is a great value product that does exactly what it says on the tin."
