LOOKS SO SICK! Do you think the kashima coat is worth the extra money?
patriotrider replied... on 2 November 2011
cheers bud , yeah its pretty awesome, definitely really smooth and supposedly meant to make them alot more durable , but they feel alot smoother than the previous forks , and look amazing in person too

very nice! how much does one of these weigh in at? it dont look so much heavier than a five. reckon it should go up pretty easy as well as fly back down
patriotrider replied... on 3 April 2012
sorry for the long reply , havent been on in a while , it weighs 16 kg , so not too bad , and well on the downhill routes and straights it pedals brilliantly and picks up a lot of speed as for climbing uphill with the gearing ive got on it its very hard! I did the Cwmcarn XC loop on it and was horrible as not really got an all mountain set up . Im going to be putting a bigger cassette and maybe front sprockets on after i get back from Morzine and Chatel this summer , then i hope ill be able to do Llandegla and cwmcarn and afan on it without almost dieing ! Ive ridden a patriot with much easier gearing and doesnt seem to be to much hassle on the ups at all, obviosly due to the weight not quite as fast as a Five or an XC bike but still pretty good .
christ1an replied... on 23 January 2012
Did you ever get round to weighing it? How's it pedal?
patriotrider replied... on 2 November 2011
Thanks mate ans yeah I think it should be able to climb pretty well as well as fly down ! And I'm not sure yet as I'm gonna get it weighed when I've got the pedals and rear mech on too, I'll post it on here then ,
