Rushmere Mountain Bike Trails

Rushmere Country Park is a great place for mountain biking with cross country, downhill trails, jumps and a pump track, there is something for everyone to have fun and improve their skills here. The sandy soil makes the site rideable all year round.

New from Spring 2024 - Easy Family Cycle Route

A new family-friendly cycling route has been developed within the park, offering an enjoyable and accessible experience for visitors with children and bicycles. The circular trail commences adjacent to the visitor center, with blue marker posts guiding riders through a wooded area. It provides access to a section near the parking lot and intersects with a portion of the pedestrian-only Sculpture Trail before looping back to the starting point. Alternatively, cyclists can opt for a shorter route that connects to the Pump Track, where riders can practice navigating over bumps and undulations.

This cycling amenity is complimentary and does not require a cycle pass, although parking fees may apply. Tailored for ages 4 to 12, the route presents an excellent opportunity for young cyclists to refine their riding proficiency in a safe and engaging environment.

The Ridge Riders Cross Country Trail

Approximately 6km long, this XC route takes you almost around the whole of Rushmere Country Park. The uphill sections will challenge your fitness, but it’ll be worth the effort when you’re coming down the other side! The route is blue graded, with some red sections - follow the red-topped posts to keep you on track.

The Ridge Riders Downhill Zone

Newly developed with the help of local specialists and our volunteers offering multiple blue, red and black graded downhill trails.

Pump Track

Located near the entrance to the Rushmere Ridge Riders Downhill Zone, this short, leisurely loop is perfect for young riders and beginners to get into cycling. It is free to access and does not require the purchase of the Greensand Cycling Pass.

Other than the Family Trail, Pump Track and free access paths into the park, if you wish to use our network of specialist cycle trails and jump areas for advanced riders - the Rushmere Ridge Riders Cross Country Trail and Downhill Zone - you will need to purchase a Greensand Cycling Pass available here.
