Kirkhill Forest mountain bike trails and fun park pump track are located just a couple of miles out of Aberdeen on the A96 between Dyce and Blackburn in North East Scotland.
Kirkhill offers a purpose built MTB fun park and pump track, with bumps, jumps, berms and challenges; plus 7+ miles of cycle trails on fire break roads, and heaps of very tricky sections of unmarked single track to explore. The Kirkhill cycle trails manage to provide challenges for the experienced mountain biker, and yet still be suitable for a family cycle.
Kirkhill Mountain Bike Fun Park is a great introduction to mountain biking. Ride this short section of trail with its range of technically challenging features - jumps, bumps, berms, switchbacks and more. Its bound to keep you entertained for hours! The trail starts with a gentle climb through mature conifer woodland before descending across open ground crossing many features designed to help you perfect your biking skills.
South Spur mountain bike trail leads from the Main car park up to join the red waymarked Kirkhill Loop. This trail is steep, rough and rocky, and should only be attempted by experienced off-road cyclists. Less experienced cyclists should follow the red waymarked forest road from the car park, which also leads to the red waymarked Kirkhill Loop. Please stay aware that you share this main road with horse riders, walkers and forestry vehicles, and cycle with consideration.
This waymarked red route encircles the heart of Kirkhill forest. This route is on forest road for most of the way, and gives terrific views over Bennachie and the north on the northern section of the Loop. There are only a few steep gradients, making this an ideal family cycle.
The main forest road from the car park to the Loop is now also waymarked, so less experienced cyclists can avoid the rough and steep White Spur waymarked route. Cyclists should stay aware that they share many of the routes with horse riders, and should follow the forest cycle code.
