Cathkin Braes Mountain Bike Trails in Cathkin Braes Country Park, located on the southern edge of Glasgow is a approximately 5.5km long red graded trail in a figure of eight with Blue and Black options.
It opened in June 2013 and was built for and will be the venue for the 2014 Commonwealth Games. It is though a permanent venue and so is a legacy for all to enjoy be you a mountain bike enthusiast or a competing racer. It is quite unique and a bit of a gift to have such a world class mountain bike venue in such a large city with easy access to a population of 1.8 million people. The location is well placed as it is 200 metres above sea level making it the highest point in Glasgow. There are no facilities so go prepared.
