Description
Tavistock woods area is fast becoming a downhill hotspot for the southwest. Local riders have developed a series of downhill mountain bike tracks. The tracks are varied in their style, from fast open flowing course's like "The Corkscrew" to the slower technical style of "Rich's Course". Theres something for everyone. One of our greatest assett's is that "The Corscrew" is pretty much an all weather course. being on a sandy well drained soil it actually runs faster when it's damp.
A selection of north shore jumps grew up during the spring of 2005 taking the riding to whole new level. The development of the site continues as more tracks are added. There will soon be a total of 10 full courses catering to a range of riding styles.
Club members are only permitted to ride the trails. Yearly Membership for 2010 is £30 (£15 U16, £25 U19) and this covers riding at both Tavistock Woods and Gawton. Membership forms can be obtained from Dartmoor Cycles.
