Description

Gisburn Trail Centre in the North East corner of Lancashire with almost 30km of high quality mountain bike trails and singletrack with amazing panoramic views.

Cycling and mountain biking trails at Gisburn

Bottoms Beck trail

Grade: Blue (9.5 km)

This trail is classified as a blue (intermediate) level, but it includes some easier green (beginner) sections. It begins by descending along a causeway over Stocks Reservoir and continuing onto Eggberry Road. The trail then follows a gentle green section that runs parallel to Bottoms Beck, utilizing an abandoned railway line. The route progresses onto a flowy blue-rated singletrack trail through Park Wood before culminating with an exhilarating descent from the summit of Cocklet Hill.

Hope Line and Leap of Faith

Grade: Orange: Bike Park (0.5 km)

The Hope Line trail offers an exhilarating downhill biking experience with its winding paths, banked turns (berms), and opportunities for airborne maneuvers (jumps and drop-offs). One notable feature is the "Leap of Faith," which requires riders to commit fully and maintain a firm grip on the handlebars. Due to the trail's technical nature, full-face helmets and body armor are essential safety precautions for all riders.

Skills loop

Grade: Various

The skills loop is situated near the stone wall enclosure at Gisburn Forest Hub. It consists of three interconnected mini trails that gradually increase in difficulty. These loops incorporate numerous technical elements and obstacles.

Before embarking on one of our cross-country trails, assess your skill level. The skills loop allows you to learn, practice, and perfect new riding techniques.

The 8 at Gisburn

Grade: Various (18 km)

The trail forms a figure-eight shape, featuring notable sections such as the volunteer-constructed "Home Baked" area, the challenging "Whelp Stone Crag," and the optional black trail segment known as the "Hully Gully" roller coaster ride. This diverse route encompasses forest roads, red and blue-graded single-track trails, as well as optional black-graded technical features and sections along the way.
