Ray's Indoor Bike Park

Ray's Indoor Bike Park has everything an epic bike park should offer: progression-oriented features, challenges for any skill level and a friendly vibe.

The beginner's course consists of wide obstacles and low-elevation tracks, berms, and bridges. The intermediate and expert course areas have "technical skinnies", rock gardens, a pump track, and stunts suitable for those with advanced technical skills. The jump park has angled wall berms, and a foam pit where bikers can try jumps with minimal risk upon landing. There is cross-country course that routes riders up into the rafters and then down and round the perimeter of the park. The cross-country course is great for the rider who wants an aerobically demanding, cross-country style trail experience along with the opportunity to hone their technical skills on low-risk skinnies, ramps, and moderate jumps.

Off the bike, there are two lounge areas with fireplaces, Internet access, arcade games, and furniture created from recycled materials such as logs and re-used construction wood. The facility has massive glass windows on the roof that allow natural light to pour into the space, giving it an open, outdoors feeling. Ray's has the laid back feel of a trailhead at a mountain bike festival where riders hang out and exchange stories before heading back out on the "trails" for another lap. Ray's Indoor Mountain Bike Park's mission is to create a vibrant gathering place where people who are passionate about off-road biking come together for physical and mental challenges, adventure, and a sense of camaraderie around unique mountain bike experiences.

Location: Rays' is located in urban warehouse space just west of downtown Cleveland, Ohio. Open October through May, evenings and weekends.

Directions: Address: 9801 Walford Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44102. Take 1-90 to exit 167 or 167A (West Blvd.). South on West Blvd. Left onto Walford Ave. First right into driveway. Go around to back of building to Ray's Entrance. Additional directions on the website.

Admission: Daily, weekend, and yearly passes. See website for prices and details. Under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All riders must sign a waiver.

Length: The combined length of all the trails and stunts is approximately 10 miles.

Terrain: Logs, roots, rocks, trees, skinnies and a cross country loop, all indoors, all under one roof.

Shop: The Park has a wrench area and a limited selection of bike parts for on-the-fly repairs. Ray's branded apparel is also available.
