Summary:
worth a ride if less than one hour drive from home

this is not a beginners trail, neither is it an expert. Rooty - yes, and very slippery when wet. Quite a bit of climbing virtually all on s/track. Some nice quick descents make up for it though. The new switchbacks could be better, only one of them is really really tight. I ride here 2 or 3 times a year, joining up with the bridleways of the south downs way you can easily spend 2-4 hours of good mtb'ing. I'm told there is some really good unsanctioned stuff, but no idea where it is. All in all, a nice change if you don't fancy a very long drive to south wales !!!!

Summary:
Not worth travelling to but a good excuse to pop out for an hour if local

trail is labelled advanced not expert and some parts are a bit of a handfull due to roots and in today's case, sheets of ice! Roots make the going hard uphill, many times we had to get off and walk and still kept losing footing on roots and ice. Overall it's hard going enough to build up a sweat, and interesting enough to be fun while doing it, some very interestingly placed tree stumps keep you on your toes that's for sure!... not worth a day out or weekend away but as i'm local, will be usefull to keep me occupied inbetween trips away with the bike. There's some very good singletrack stuff up there that's not part of the main trail too, just need to visit with a mate that knows it better than i do to find more of it.

Good when dry, to sketchy when wet. Could do with a bit of trail building in places, but i still go there ones a month so it cant be that bad.
