Summary:
Technically challenging narrow flowing black rated trail
Review:
The Wall starts off with a few miles of gradual incline on the old railway to get you warmed up. There is then some forest singletrack and fireroad climbing to take you up the wall in sections with some XC and downs in-between. The trail works well in all weathers and is well varied. Many of the downs are in steep-sided forest where poor line choice could definately hurt. Not suitable for novices but a blast for those more experienced. Lots of speed can be gained in all the descents to make the challenge as tricky as you like. There are many jumps including a 4-6 foot drop (depending on your landing zone) off a piece of bedrock after the last hairpin on the last descent, watch out for it on your right as it is easy to miss. It is also easy to miss the nick to the left after this to make a decent jump over some rocks and roots. The wall is the fastest of the Afan decents and is a little easier to get wrong (many off-camber areas) than Whites level. Overall a black route that is narrow, steep and as fast as you like. Been riding it for 3 years and it never tires.

Good but hard
Review:
Very long flat trail part at the start that's quite boring, then you hit a massive climb on forest roads, which does get a little annoying and is a bit of a killer (I did go on a roasting hot day, so that probably didn't help). Excellent downhill, however, I was a bit too shattered at the end to enjoy it fully.

Fantastic ride with great technical sections to test your nerves and skills. It can be ridden by novices and experts. Just take the ride to your own pace and don't take the risk if you feel unsure onthe technical descent.
On my second visit the ride was even more enjoyable, I manage to complete the big climb without stopping. I did find it ended too soon compared to when I first did the ride. This is one ride that'll leave a smile on your face, no matter the weather.
