Its getting better
Review:
There's a lot of work going on up here at the minute with loads of new tracks opening up. The pub at Tosside is very bike friendly and even has a power washer out back. (This is good place to park up.)
There's talk of a bike shop opening up there too!
The old downhill courses are having work done on them too, but this is nothing to do with the company that is doing the major work elsewhere. There's some big drops on them so don't venture down unless you're confident. A lot of people are locking up their rear brakes on the take offs and leaving big ruts. Due to its location this section does tend to hold water so don't bother if its been raining.
All in all, there's some serious investment going on and hopefully the end result will be a lot more challenging than what's there now.

Good fitness training with a touch of downhill thrown in!
Review:
I use Gisburn as somewhere to go at weekends or whenever I have time just to get some fitness exercise. There's 3 loops, ranging from around 5 miles to 10 for the longest route. They are all very easy with mostly fire roads with little bits of quite nice singletrack. Near the top of the hill, when you enter the wooded area, there are quite a few off road trails mainly downhill. There is one main DH track which is well built and excellent fun, just a shame it aint really that long. Overall a good place to visit.

It more fun than it should be
Review:
It more fun than it should be. While the majority is Fireroad and following the route as it's intended misses out some great woodland singletrack. singletrack with alot of technical, tight and fast downhill.
The more you explore the more you find and at the end of the day you get from it. Do it twice if the route aint enough. My mates and I ride one section, just off piste if you will, two or three times.
Find it, ride it and enjoy it.

don't do it as on the map!
Review:
if you are going to ride this trail, ride it in a sort of figure of 8 starting off heading down to stcks reservoir, the singletrack flows better this way!
