Their is way too much uphill, for the amount of dh u come down! the dh is very rocky so u cant get any speed! Also the last bit of uphill takes ages u just ride round on a tarmac road for no reason then u finally get back on the trail and the end dh bit is ok! wouldnt recomend travelling hours for it unless you have the stamina!

When you got off the fireroad there were of lots of fun technical trails. I did it on a 6in full suss and when you go fast the trails seemed to flow, any slower and they didn't seem to work. Someone riding with me, who is a lot faster and stronger, on a hard tail couldn't keep up. This is why a lot of people, him included, don't like this trail.
Realy to ride it fast and have fun on the singletrack you need a freeride bike with a lot of travel. With a bike like this the hills aren't rideable.
In general this is a good track for anyone who rides downhill to just push up and ride down.
Lastly, they need to do some weeding if it rains your legs get soaked.

Boring!
Review:
A long, long slog up forestry roads, a few short sections of slow single track, then roll all the way back down on forestry roads. Last 2 sections were not bad, but not worth all the hard slog. Not a patch on the other routes in Coed y Brenin. I went round part of MBR afterwards just to get some proper moutainbiking in.

Beginning of the end has to be the best bit, this was the first ever mountain bike trail i rode, and is what got me into mountain biking.

This is a really non-technical trail as the difficulty rating in the info suggests. This makes it a great ride for new comers to the sport or families. That said it also makes a great warm up for more advanced riders before heading for one of the more serious trails. Watch the speed though there are walkers on large parts of this route.
