Summary:
Nice improvements made to the red route
Review:
Not that technical overall but is a nice introduction into red routes a few challenging bits but nothing too off putting. Love what they have done to what was I believe section 10 or western front as it is now known as it snakes all the way down and is very fast flowing absolutely brilliant definitely the best bit of the trail

Ok if you are passing but dont visit specifically for a MTB ride
Review:
Easy enough to find and park. Trails are not very well marked out both from the car park and on the route. I would say that the red route is not the most technical or physically demanding so good for a beginner who is looking to develop skills in a linear way. Surely there is more scooe in lengthening the trail and adding in a few more nasties to test the rider and the bike.

Summary:
A varied mix of surfaces and obsticles. A great red route to start you off.
Review:
The original red route had a lot to be desired as it was basically a path worn in by the number of visitors through the trees with a good standard of bike park / north shore section half way round the route.
It's now loads better and is undergoing constant development. Some really great switchback sections have been added with high berms and jumps to test you and the downhill / north shore section is constantly being improved.
The best thing about this particular red route is not only are there long sections of very little used single track that join particular parts of the route together so you can venture off into the wilderness but that nearly all the sections are very close to the fire roads / blue route so if like me your getting your kid's started on singletrack you can miss out the harder sections until there confidence/skill level is high enough to tackle them.
Overall a great route which is getting better with time.

a good trail
Review:
This is a great trail and it gets better as you get better. The fitter and faster you are able to pedal the better the trail gets. If you don't put much in you don't get much out. My legs hurt more by the end than other trails I have ridden.
I was not expecting a lot and have avoided the trail for a while but I think it's really good and worth a visit if you live nearby.

Its now a cross country red run....... not good at all, no jumps, drops, northshore or anything exciting.
