three of us made the journey up there for the day sarnies packed ready for a full day out...all got sorted had a butchers round the shop good stock and staff friendly so off to the trails we went first bit seemed really good and then it just seemed to lose its way trail marking was very poor and it just seemed like constantly riding through boggy ground on the plus side the downhill section was good and the dirt jump area was fun . might go again but only for the dirt jumps and downhill. will give the trail a miss

Sweet but could do with extending
Review:
This is the only decent bit of 'north shore' in the area and it is well built. The course currently consists of a launch ramp, a ramp to drop off, a small double, two wall rides arranged in an S-Bend and a pump/manual snake, the course then joins onto one of the existing DH trails. The only problem is the actual timber bit doesn't last very long. This course would be amazing if it was extended down the hill to follow (and not join onto) the other current DH trails.

getting better every week
Review:
just got back from riding here today.. I am fairly local to this..
Red Kitchener trail is good, some sweepy sections.... this ties into the dirt jump/down hill sections and the fun begins. Northshore parts are good, drop off, wall rides etc.. Plenty of routes to go down, just gets better for honing those skills
will post some pics asap.

Decent and due to get better!

'Tis true, unless you know your way around it's a bit difficult to find some of the best spots. I'm local to the forest and still don't think i've found all the best spots to ride. I tend to stick around the dirt jump / 3 trail corner of the forest and hone my skills. There has been quite a bit of work just lately with rocks and obstacles added to the courses such as rock step downs and drop offs. I can only see the place getting better over the next few months and i'm on the mailing list for dig days (if anyone wants any info give me a shout and i'll pass it on as i get it).

This place is set up for dog walkers/families not mtb'ers Car parking, shop cafe etc good but if you are going there to ride, trails etc dont bother. There are bits of short singletrack, nothing is linked together, nothing flows, there are wooden posts everwhere but no directions,(the hard works been done fixing in a 6ft post but no one can stick on a laminated piece of A4, or draw an arrow with a marker pen) you can wander around on family tracks for miles trying to find anything interesting, when you do it lasts for 100yds. When you do find the jumps,dh etc. they are good but it all needs planning and linking together. Its a shame, it really could be good but you just come away feelin like you ridden for miles but not done much. There is rubbish everywhere too.
