first climb is a drag but at least it gets you warmed up for the start of the downhill which i do enjoy, nice and sweeping, pretty easy but....
the last section of the new red drags you up on a horible horible climb, at least 80% of riders were off the bike and pushing up last weekend.
rode the old trail many time but just don't see that the new section improves the experience
have always gone 50/50 between gisburn and llandegla being half way between the two but will definitly now be more 90/10!!

Well done to Llandegla for their new Black/red section. Fast and Furious, the faster you go the hairier it is. In the Summer when dry it will be even faster. It makes Llandegla a fun experience, not technical but it has its momements.
Keep it up, the next section to sort is the first 25 minute climb. I wonder if they can get hold of that old quarry?
For fun I am increasing Llandegla to 8.5

Great fun

A rode as relative novice on a hard tail.... What great fun, downhills had me whooping in delight and I found the track mentally and physically demanding but an awful lot of fun. Found the final third after badgers rise very tough going as I did this after the blue and I'm not the fittest but still will definetely be going back

First ride for a novice - very happy
Review:
This was my first serious trail on a new Specialized hard tail, heard lots of Llandegla and the videos on YouTube made it look challenging. Decided to start on this route and thoroughly enjoyed it, quite bumpy and felt like a good workout (I'm averagely fit) but I would highly recommend for other novices or a introduction to children (I will be bringing my kids back if Santa brings them bikes for Christmas)... Felt a bit gutted at the end as it all seemed to end rather quickly. Cafe was excellent, friendly service and lovely sausage sandwich (red sauce, brown sauce or no sauce at all)

A great ride for intermediates with some great flowing sections.
Review:
I have recently started riding this regularly after work on a Wednesday evening (late night opening). Both my husband and I ride, but with small children it's difficult to get out, and I've never been keen to go on my own. However, at Llandegla I feel totally safe - there are so many people around. I love this route. The uphill is really doeable. Those who complain there is too much uphill are obviously really unfit or have a way too heavy bike for this cross country route! The downhill is lovely and flowing and is great even in the wet. Maybe it is an easy red, but then it's up to you how fast you ride it.
I feel so lucky to have this as my local workout.
As for the cafe, the food is great and reasonably priced. Would recommend definitely. Am looking forward to doing the black sections next time I go.
Please also see my review of the blue which is awesome for beginners.
