Summary:
brilliant singletrack in sublime countryside
Review:
Stunning trail with a great mix - love the open section return.
2 tips:
miss out the first section by heading straight up the fireroad - the first singletrack is a waste of time, followed by a killer climb!
midgies - wear glasses - my eyeballs and teeth were inch thick in dead midges by the time I made it back to the car! (why didn't I keep my mouth shut? The trail gives you such a sheet-eating grin you just can't.
Got major plans to come back here - again and again.

Good descents, bit boring inbetween
Review:
loop one has the good bits as I'm only interested in fun descents loop two is flat, so if your like me then heres the quick quide..
There are 4 good descents which can easily be ridden time and time again. On the map 3 of them are the last 3 single tracks back to the carpark. The other on is about half way roung the trail and can be ridden to direct by going straight up the forest rd from car park, dont turn right at first junction keep going straight for about 20 mins to get to it. 3 short sections on and of forest rd. Can just push straight back up forest rd to repeat. The next bit is a climb then a xc single track that can be cut out by
pushing back up forest rd to cross roads turn righ and a short climb takes you to the 3 descents back to car park. These can each be easily repeated by riding back round forest rds to top again.

FINE SINGLETRACK

Totally agree with davehughes summary.
This trail definately boasts some of the best technical singletrack I've seen, and you get more of a feeling of remoteness. There are some sections that can catch you off-guard. Okay, so some of the climbs are a tad bland, and the waymarking could be better, but I LOVE this place, there's no pretend North Shore sections, it's a genuine fast technical XC course.
