Stop Here on your Way To/From Afan/Brechfa
Review:
Rode the trail on 26/05/08, & they've made a few changes to the route, with mixed results. The climb is technical singletrack to about 80% of the way up, with plenty of exposed roots & rocks. This is great fun & a real challenge to get over. The new sections are right at the start (good) & about half way up (not good - smooth & less technical - I hope they're not going to do more of this like they have on the Beast in Coed-y-Brenin). Once you're at the top, take the freeride section - even if you're not into jumps this is much better than the very rocky Twrch at this point. From here there's a mix of climbing/descending on singletrack, which is reasonably technical. You soon come to a point where a hill is infront of you. You're heading left to go most of the way around the hill, when you get out into the open you'll be on a fast sweet descent which eventually hits fireroad. Straight over this (to another good new section) & the final descent is very fast (don't cut the corners), the best of the route.

First half is very technical and second half very fast with awesome jumps, drops and berms. Well worth the trip especially with there being a cwmdown uplift service there.
