Not worth the effort
Review:
Rode this back in the spring of 2007.
The freeride area is off the XC loop at pretty much the top of the climb, and quite a way from the drop off for the dh, so if you have a big bike it's going to require a lot of walking (although I understand the uplift can drop you close). It's pretty short with not many features, very rough under tyre in many places and isn't a loop - there is a path back up to the start though and it doesn't drop much in elevation.
In summary I would say don't bother unless you are out riding the XC loop anyway.
What they have:
3 drops of various height - small is perhaps 1ft, medium 3ft and large 4ft (measured vertical at the top of the LZ - add 2-3ft by the time you actually land if you are going reasonable speed)
A corkscrew on dirt that goes through a 3+m dia concrete tunnel
A couple of 3 packs of tables which are raf
A few small bermy corners with jumps in that are also raf
A few other small rollable doubles/tables, nothing to write home about
A C shaped wall ride (really tight I thought)
What they could do with but DON'T have (but do have at Glentress for example):
Straight wallrides - perhaps at different angles for those of us who don't get to practice those things too often - like at chicksands)
Multiple lines, including hipped jumps
Buffed dj's
Ladders, ladder drops, northshore styley
Fun box
All in all I was pretty disappointed.....
The fact it is so rough may be because it is pretty new or the ground conditions or may be intentional but I think it broke up the flow. Also it was p**ing it down with rain when we were there so I guess that didn't help my mood!!
Still the dh and the xc loop are both great so 2 out of 3 ain't bad I suppose!!

Well worth the drive!

Technical long never ending climb (if your like me you'd get off and push so as not to wear yourself out for the best bits), which rewards you at the top with an amazing new freeride skills area (not so much fun when weathers not good), and then on to the mainly downslope single track action. Finally an amazing final descent that'll make you want to do the whole thing again!

nice drops at the start with small jumps and jumps onto burms along the way with a wicked set of 3 tabletops and a wallride at the end.
