getting better every week

Review:
just got back from riding here today.. I am fairly local to this..
Red Kitchener trail is good, some sweepy sections.... this ties into the dirt jump/down hill sections and the fun begins. Northshore parts are good, drop off, wall rides etc.. Plenty of routes to go down, just gets better for honing those skills
will post some pics asap.

Decent and due to get better!

Review:
'Tis true, unless you know your way around it's a bit difficult to find some of the best spots. I'm local to the forest and still don't think i've found all the best spots to ride. I tend to stick around the dirt jump / 3 trail corner of the forest and hone my skills. There has been quite a bit of work just lately with rocks and obstacles added to the courses such as rock step downs and drop offs. I can only see the place getting better over the next few months and i'm on the mailing list for dig days (if anyone wants any info give me a shout and i'll pass it on as i get it).

needs work

Review:
This place is set up for dog walkers/families not mtb'ers Car parking, shop cafe etc good but if you are going there to ride, trails etc dont bother. There are bits of short singletrack, nothing is linked together, nothing flows, there are wooden posts everwhere but no directions,(the hard works been done fixing in a 6ft post but no one can stick on a laminated piece of A4, or draw an arrow with a marker pen) you can wander around on family tracks for miles trying to find anything interesting, when you do it lasts for 100yds. When you do find the jumps,dh etc. they are good but it all needs planning and linking together. Its a shame, it really could be good but you just come away feelin like you ridden for miles but not done much. There is rubbish everywhere too.

New Kitchener Trail

Review:
I rode the new Kitchener trail today (or at least the bits i could follow). It is a great improvement on the past trails with some really good flowy sections that even include North Shore style obstacles like ladder drops.

Drainage seems good even at this early stage although some of the more natural sections were quite boggy.

The trail is not properly marked at the moment but i followed yellow marks on trees when i was unsure and the obvious paths. I also found myself on some red marked routes which were very good. Hopefully they have put a couple of routes in.

The route is pretty much all singletrack and much better than Thetford in my opinion.

Cant wait for them to finish the Skills/Shore section now and they desperately need to put in a 4x course to make this a leading venue again.

The dirt jump area has had some work done and looked tidy for once.....

Well done Pines!

Summary:
great trails

Review:
This proved to be a great day out on some of the more intense trails. However I had a guide who was experienced and knew exactly where to go. Without somebody to show you round its not worth doing as some of the trails are of paths very difficult to find.
