Summary:
Simplistic but rewarding
Review:
You can start this from the Grizedale Centre or from the Top Car Park from Hawkeshead which makes for a very flexible trail and with the links to other trails based on the forest road you can drop in and out of the North Face or complete it as one ride. The Single Track climb from the center, shortly after the forest road climb is technically challenging in places but you are rewarded with great views and plenty to keep you concentrated. Single Track mixed in with some narrow and tricky board walk sections ( watch them when they are wet) makes for a fun and challenging climb and decent with some berms and small drop offs on the way back down to the centre. Watch out for the closed gates at the ends of the downhill sections which are just prior to the Grizedale Centre. Trail Maps can be purchased!!! for £1 from the bike shop or £2.50 for one that incorporates all the walks as well. For a challenging trail that can be turned into a full days riding or a short single track ride this a great place to be.
