The first time I rode Skyline was this summer. The climb is the same as Whites level and is a good 30 - 50 slog but stick it in middle ring and just turn your wheels, your get to the top eventualy after the final switch back. Once at the top it can be a little windy but the trees keep you nicely sheltered. The trail is a mixture of fire roads and wooded sections. The final decent is a wrist/bone rattler, it is fantastic. It is a really fun ride and the views are fantastic. I am an XC rider and ride about 60 miles a week after work. It took me and a friend just over 3 hours to get round. We took full sussers, 3 litres of water, full backpacks with spares, phones and lots of energy packs. Once you get to the wind turbines take in the view. But you will then notice that you are a good 4-5 miles from the trail centre. Brilliant day out ride, good cafe, showers, toilets and a fully stocked bike shop. NOT FOR UNFIT RIDERS

I Came to play here on the back of what I'd read and was not disappointed! Facilities are very good (great breakfast in the cafe), shop were helpful and well kitted out, showers/toilets clean. First climb is a steeeep single track but very enjoyable, small decents break up the rest of the climbs, breath taking views add to the challenging trails and the massive end single track down hill. Did the Wall first before starting this one but next time I'll start here because by the end I was knackered! Could say a lot more but won't...is a must do before you get to old/die.
