Best Business Ideas for Women in Healthcare is a Personal Care Business

Men may have traditionally dominated the world of business entrepreneurship across major sectors in society, but now more and women are investing in personal care businesses. A sector which unsurprisingly, is on track to becoming one of the best business ideas for women in the 21st century!
The US Census Bureau has posited that by 2030 some 20 percent of our population will be aged 65 or older. That's exciting news to me and it should be for you too, especially if you're a female MD's, RN's, LPN's or CNA's healthcare professional. Indeed, this information should excite anyone thinking of opening a community based business, personal care home, companion care company, adult day program, adult foster care home or transportation business in any state. I'm certainly excited and will be the first to admit most of our clients are women.
Women are making the power moves in this industry while men primarily watch from afar, get left behind or get drugged!
Across the world, the role of women in society has changed. Over the years we have consulted thousands of clients nationally and more than 80 percent have been women. Unsurprisingly, it's mainly nurses who have contacted our agency seeking consultation and information on the best business ideas in healthcare.
Think of that old adage, “What a man can do, a woman can do better.” After all, women are natural caregivers so opening a business focusing on care, security and comfort could be a good fit. Our male clients also do very well, but in my experience I have encountered many female healthcare workers delivering efficient and dedicated personal care businesses.

As CEO of The Business Hub, formally Flagg & Associates LLC of Michigan - we specialize in designing efficient behavioral programs that are essential to a personal care business. We design programs for both adults and children, including the developmentally disabled, traumatic brain injured, mentally impaired and Dementia populations. Our company has seen a huge surge in the purchasing of program materials and business consultations over the years, mainly by women already in the healthcare industry.
Simply put, woman in large numbers are seeking business ownership.
There's never been a better time for women entrepreneurs to become providers of care through owning a personal care business. Carla Harris, who heads the National Women's Business Council (NWBC), believes, “women are creating businesses at such a fast rate.” Indeed, during the past 17 years in the US the number of women-owned businesses has increased rapidly. According to the 2014 State of Women-Owned Businesses Report commissioned by American Express OPEN, “Women are starting 1,288 (net) new businesses per day, which is double the rate from only three years ago. In 2014 the number of women-owned firms were estimated at 9.1 million in the United States (compared to 8.6 million in 2013). These businesses generate more than $1.4 trillion in revenues, employ 7.9 million people and accounts for 30% of all enterprises.'” These statistics are impressive.
Clearly, women are becoming more and more powerful in the world of business ownership. As a result of this, women can expect to have the freedom and time to engage in other activities such as spending more time with their families and leisurely pursuits. Business ownership also allows for more varied options to explore life extensively and without limitations.
