i-sopod float tanks first started out in 1993. We have sold our floatation tanks to over 35 countries around the globe. We have supplied our sensory deprivation tanks to the Australian Institute of sport and also the US Navy seals. Into the i-sopod floatation tank are added over 500kg (1,100 lbs) of Epsom Salts (Magnesium sulphate) mixed into 1,000 litres (220 gallons) of water.
This super saturated solution of Epsom salts creates a highly buoyant environment in which people will naturally float on the surface without any effort on their part, similar to the experience of floating in the Dead Sea.

The effect of floating in this way allows the user to escape the forces of gravity and all the muscles of the body are able to relax and release held tension.

With the light switched off and no sound, the lack of any external stimulus means that the brain has nothing to focus on, it is then quite natural to slip into a deeply relaxed mental state as our brain moves from Beta into Alpha and Theta brainwave patterns.
