This years 'Mud' Series, consisting of 3 events, will see us using 3 new and exciting areas. The first and second events will see us venturing on to the outskirts of Dartmoor, whilst the final event is also something not to be missed, as we will be having a combination of off-road rural and urban checkpoints!
We will have our usual Long (3.5 hours) and Short (2 hours) Score options in which to visit as many checkpoints as possible in order to maximise your score. This year you can enter as a 'Solo', 'Pair', 'Family' and new for the season; 'Team'. The new 'Team' category is open for teams of up to 4 people - so whether it be a group of friends or work colleagues wanting a team bonding experience or a fun and friendly competitive outdoor challenge, this category will hopefully see teams from across the south west fighting it out to be the 2012-2013 'Team Mud Champions!'
As with previous years, there will be prizes for the winners in each category, and the results from each event will earn you points in the overall series results too.
The first event in the series starts on the 2nd December, and will be based on Eastern Dartmoor near Manaton. The map will be covering some unique and varied landscapes - from bridleways crossing open moorland through to rural lanes, RUPP's and wooded areas.
New for this year too, we are planning on starting/finishing each event from a solid base such as a Village Hall (rather that our pop up marquees and gazebo's). This means a dry area to register, access to toilets and more often than not somewhere to purchase drinks and food and then sit and chat with other competitors about your ride!
To tempt as many of you as possible to come along, we are offering some good discounts for pre-entering, and if you pre-enter more than one event, the discounts mount up for each event you enter . making it even cheaper! If you have pre-entered, and have also sent us your Entry Form, it will also speed up your registration process on the day.
More information about the next event can be found on our website. You can also enter online using PayPal - alternatively, you can pay by cheque or bank transfer.
In order to make these events a success and to safeguard their continuation, we really do need your support - come along to the event, and bring as many of your friends, family or colleagues as possible! If you feel you can convince lots of your friends to enter and can get a large group together to enter an event, email us for a quote, as we will give further discounts on the entry fee, as a thank you!
If you have somewhere you could put a poster up for us, or place some flyers on a counter, please email us, and we will get some sent to you.
