The DRRt is a new XC challenge from one of the largest MTB clubs in the UK. We have been seeking out the best trails in the Purbeck hills and have come up with a 30 mile route which covers the best riding you'll find in the area. From clifftop bridleways, outstanding sea views, rolling chalk downs to sandy heathland and a forest, there's just about everything you could wish for.
In co operation with the National Trust we have set up the HQ at Studland Middle Beach. This is in one of the large pay and display car parks with a cafe and toilets on site. You can also park at Sandbanks and cycle across to the start via the chain ferry (£2 return).
This is our first Purbeck off road event designed to show what great trails there are within easy reach from the South of England and we have fine tuned the route to pick the best bridleways the area has to offer.
The route is designed to be a series of long bridleway sections linked by a few country roads and lanes. Most of the terrain is fairly easy, but we've thrown in a few technical climbs and descents that will really have you concentrating hard especially in the wet. There are a couple of short cut points if the bike is playing up or the legs are running on empty!
The event is meant to attract a wide range of riders from those keen to push themselves and finish in a fast time to those that make use of the number of country pubs on the route.
Entry is limited to 150, so don't delay get your entry in for this must do ride.
