Nice little machine. I would ditch the forks and go for something like Marzocchi 55 and then stick a Hayes disc brake up front, even a cheap cable job from them would give ok performace as a starter if on a tight budget and the forks can be found on Ebay for way under 100 pounds.
love the frame doesnt matter about the fork it was cheap and dont worry about what other people thinks if u like and approve of it good for you its you who needs pleasing not other peoples eyes
cool. i've jsut read your post and i agree with you. i dont like the forks but i see why you are using them and if it still rides good then what more could you ask for? being a bit long they do raise the bb a little too, which can make it unstable but for fr, its a good thing to get the chainring clear of obsticales.
oh and i like that stem too, i have one, looks cool! check my rides :)
its a nice bike but by putting forks that size on the frame your increasing the amount of stress through the headtube and increasing the risk of snapping it. you need something with a maximum of 100mm on these for them to handle beautifuly. now you have to ask yourself do i want a broken bike with rubbish triple clamps or do i want a sweet handling jump bike with argyles on it?
thanks for ya vote n yes i know the headtube could snap, it wont though, i trust my frame wouldnt have put them on if it felt like it was gunna snap n it handles better than on its original rigid forks and although being "rubbish" these give me much more confidence doing 10-15ft drops/gaps than a short travel dj fork would n i dont dirt jump.
haha despite the ridiculous forks i actually kinda like the look of it. I like a slack hedtube, even for dj and the forks definitely give it that! good work mate and ignore the people who tell you its crap having those forks because it will still be fine on dj so long as the forks are set pretty stiff
its only an inch-inch n half taller than it was on the original rigid forks (to tip of handlebars), think the forks jus give the impression that there reli big. cable discs = rubbish hydraulic discs = annoyingly complicated, thanks for ya vote dude
looks nice, not sure about puttin triple clamp forks on a hardtail though, you'll put the geometry out massivly!! needs some upgrades and it'll be well worth a 10
Animal Max max frame, seat, Azonic Ultracross bars, Kore B1-B Dh stem, WTB Freeride wheels with Hope pro Hubs, tioga factory DH's, commencal V's, trvativ BB, cranks, bash guard and single speed, wellgo pedals,Shockworks DH1 150mm forks. weird camera angle i know

would be more than a 4 if you change the forks to some single crown better ones, get a new seat, and get disc brakes. other than that its ok.

a good set of 100mm forks would do a better job on downhill and free ride than those
very nice bike killed by a bad choice of forks
and also if you ride more dh/fr why did you get that bike in the first place
