Upgrades:
Fox 36 Float R 2009 fork
Nuke proof generator/Sun EQ29 wheels
XT cranks, cassette, X9 shifters, Formula Oro Bianco brakes, 180mm f+r
Thomson Elite post & 50mm stem
Easton EA70 bars, Charge Spoon saddle, ODI Ruffian lock-ons
FSA OrbitII 2009 headset
30lb incl. pedals, but now shod with High Roller single ply's, so around 31lb mark.
Very slack, stable & plush. Light enough to pedal around Beast of Brenin etc., tough enough for the downhill tracks.

great bikes these Pitch's, check mine out too!!
So why did you go for the fork change?

Yours looks wicked, I think they're one of the best bikes out there, a genuine all rounder like the Nomad but waaaay cheaper....
Well, the Pike is a mint fork (my brother has a Pitch Pro too with stock Pikes) but I got a bit carried away speccing mine.... The Float R's are 4.6lb, a good chunk lighter than the Pikes, plus the extra fork length has slackened the head angle nicely. Problem is, the extra fork length has raised the front end quite a lot and I've got EA70 midrises, should really have gone for a low rise (and maybe a touch wider bar too). I also find the mid compression tune on the RP2 shock to be a bit firm, might change to low compression setting when I eventually get the shock serviced. I like my bikes plush and supple over the small bumps (had an '05 Enduro before this).

Sorry, I know this is my bike and entering my own rating makes me incredibly sad, but it's the most incredible toy I've ever owned. I've been riding MTB's for over 20 years now, and this bike has rekindled my love for the sport. A battering at Wharncliffe or CwmCarn, or an evening razz around Follow The Dog, this bike never feels too much or too little. I can't recommend the Pitch enough.

Thanks. Like most Specialized bikes, the new SX will probably look much better in the flesh.
