Quality Hardtail from Marin, will last forever, great parts list, i woould agree with others about the hydraulic discs but i'm still using my trusted XTR Vs on a similar set up. you still get 10/10 mate

dats my sorta bike it wud be betta wid hydrolics shorter stem nd riser bars but stil a very nice bike :)

NeillH replied... on 27 February 2008

since the picture was taken I have changed the flat bar to a riser which is better, and I have tried shorter stems but they don't suit me. I have been umming and aarring about the brakes for a while, but the BB7s work really well and are zero maintenance and reasonably light - plus a doddle to set up perfectly. Hayes Stoker Carbons are probably the replacements with some XTR 970 shifters... what this space!!!

Very nice setup - dont see the point for having mech disk brakes tho - time to go hydraulic! :)

This is a complete self build starting with the excellent Indian Fire Trail frame, then adding Fox Float 32 RL 120mm forks, Bontrager Race XXX Lite Riser bar, stem, spacers & cap, seat post, bottle cage in carbon, Shimano XTR Cranks, front & rear mechs, dual control levers. Then Mavic XM819 rims with flat spokes laced to XTR hubs and rotors (203mm front - 160mm rear). Bontrager Jones XR tyres with Maxxis featherlite tubes. Finally added FSA Orbit Xtreme headset and Hayes Stroker Carbon brakes. Shimano DX platform pedals and XTR cables complete the picture.
Total weight is a whisker over 24lbs and it both climbs and decends with outragous speed.
Has since been stolen from my garage the day after I changed to White F100 shox and Mavic XC717/XTR wheels; i miss her and hate thieves.
