Pedals: Crank Brothers Egg Beater Candy

Pretty standard setup right? Now here's where it gets interesting; came to the USA on a uni placement so was looking for a bike to carry me around, was about to buy a horrible disposable from Walmart when I came across an advert for this bike- the guy was leaving for the navy today and needed shot to pay for his ticket. So I met him- assuming him to be a crack addict selling a hooky bike- not so. Out he come's fully uniformed up and show's me the bike. He then asked me to make him an offer- so I pitch in silly at $250 (£125ish), expecting him to up the anti to a reasonable amount. Low and behold the guy says "deal".
So, here we have it- great spec, undamaged, with the receipt from the original bike shop in this guys name- £125.
I don't expect 10's - i don't even expect 5's- but try to rate it as if you'd spent £125 on it!

Coolio. What is it with you and bargains. You are so lucky! you should buy cheap and sell for loads. Looks like you would be good at that. What colour is you carpet now, brown!

Ha ha! It was a creamy brown colour when I got there and I guess is still a creamy brown colour now... bloody USA real estate agents made the place out to be perfect! lol.
Bargains seem to be my thing... I just lurk on various sits and pounce on people with silly offers to see if i get lucky! You'd be suprised how many people really want a deal today rather than double the price tomorrow. Thanks for the rating dude!

After a week of riding i have to give it a 9! Never ridden clipless before- it damn scary if you come to a sudden stop and have forgotten to unclip yourself... just toppled over in the parking lot yesterday.
The brakes are spot on, but the rear shock needs replacing- i'm thinking a fox air jobbie- anyone got any suggestions for upgrades?

You're right- not the best, not the prettiest but it does the job just right1 Its very spongy on the climbs from both the front and rear shocks- but when you usually ride a rigid I guess anything would be that way- you ride a soft tail right? Any ideas on setup?
