Well said metal! He knows the risks guys he knows that he shouldnt do it and knows the risks imposed BUT it is HIS bike and HIS choice! If he wants to ride it like that then he has the freedom of choice to do so

MetalMiketh replied... on 22 October 2009

Why does it even matter? It's his bike, his forks, let him ride it.

I've heard of the forum police, but these seem to be some kind of RmR police.

Wow honestly I think your the first person I've seen do that with a 203mm fork. I won't repeat everything that been said as to why you shouldn't do it but I do agree with them. The frame is designed by experts who know what they are doing and it was not designed for this. Here's a point no one has raised though.....Surely half of the travel is wasted? if you do "hardcore DH" and arrive at a 5ft drop off or a big rock garden you can't hit it fast or hard enough to use all 203mm and if you did you'd sure feel it in your legs and or frame stays. I suspect you do fast DH but not narly.

thats just dumb. i mean that frame is probs ment to take like 120mm max. although i do like hardtails with triple crowns, im getting some 180mm travel forks for my banshee scrath but thats ment to take up to 200mm

just plain wrong. the max travel these frames are made for from what i can from research is only 80mm so running 200mm will kill it and fast. the head angle is not made for it. adding that to the fact that the fact they are so tall will ruin the way the bike handles completely. ill expect a break or injury report soon. I just hope you get off lucky when it fails which it will.

you dont need to be a superstar to get video, most of todays mobile phones are capable of capturing video.

Look how stupid those forks are with that frame! Get some 100mm DJ/4x forks; its what the bike is designed have to run best.

NO NO NO just NO, and how it made bike of the day is beyond me.
If you like your boxxers that much get a dh frame to put them on.

evilbones replied... on 22 October 2009

Yes there are people that love it but that doesnt make it right.
The frame isnt designed to take a triple clamp fork, give GT an email and ask them.

heiner replied... on 22 October 2009

think about it. i only discovered this web page 1 day ago - and now the bike, is the bike of the day - there must more people out there loving it than hate it

Great frame, great forks. But not on the same bike. You're gonna snap a very very nice frame and who runs Boxxers on a 24" bike anyway? Fail!

these frames are excellent shame you've ruined the race geos with the totally unneccessary forks - your guna break your frame, your neck and your teeth so wear a full face - your guna nose dive!

heiner replied... on 22 October 2009

It really pisses you off - that my bike its the BOD right ?
i cant take that rate 1 serius...

evilbones replied... on 22 October 2009

i got forth place at Redbull Rampage, if it wasnt for Vanderham loosening the stabiliser on my action man bike i reckon i wouldve got best trick, but as a result that sneaky git got it instead.
