Nice. I cut my teeth (and broke my ribs...) on one of these. Superb bikes.
You might want to consider putting XT shifters on the upgrade plan as well. Make the world of difference.

I bought him the LX's so he wont be changing them they look smart too. Still got his seatpost, bars, new seat clamp that matches his stem, brakes and his wheels to come and then its finished so not far to go.

Yeah there good he says. Only difference is the grease ports but doesnt really make any difference without it
