sorry mate, really not a fan of that. its UGLY. but down to opinion is'nt it, for me that would be useless - it looks like it'll fall apart so easily. hence my rating.

top marks for the bike, and especially for managing to find a Shock to replace the old Rock Shocks one.

specialized-kid replied... on 7 January 2009

Thanks for the rate, my dad had to get some sort of metal shim sort to fill in the gap left, it wasnt easy to find a shock even close to fitting it though, this one came off a cannondale jeckyll i believe.

Hi mate, what a nice site, i have a gt lts 2000 99 model (black n red)but have just blown the stratos helix shock on it, i have a couple of questions about yours, 1, how does the trunion mount fit the fox shock as there is no external thread on the fox, secondly do you still have 5.3inches of rear travel with the fox

Eyeworx replied... on 26 August 2010

the Fox is one made specifically for the cannondale Jekyll... and it works fine with the GT LTS/STS as long as you slightly modify the trunnion from the Fox. With the Fox, you have a bit more than 5.3 inches of travel... hope it helps. I'm building an STS with a fox mount too...

ashley_photog replied... on 4 January 2009

Had the 98 version of the LTS 2000, though mine was in white.

Probably handles well, but it looks like it was designed for dry conditions - Not our great British mud fests.

Eyeworx replied... on 20 August 2010

well, it's a piece of history now, so dry condition is better. But with BETD sealed cartridges, it's more adapted to winter conditions.

ashley_photog replied... on 21 August 2009

true, though I stuck a lizard skin on mine which protected it.

superrupe123 replied... on 15 June 2009

yeh but the shock has been placed in the wrong place for muddy conditions!

ashley_photog replied... on 4 January 2009

it actually handled mud quite well, and was easy to clean.

oh no mate thats not cool one of the ugliest bikes made! dnt know how these ride tho so cant be too harsh. sorry dude.

Eyeworx replied... on 20 August 2010

Lol... a GT STS or LTS still rules comparing to i-drive. It's lighter, softer and really more fun if equipmment is good. A perfect joy-machine. That's why they are still so expensive (I've sold a GT STS frame of '96 for 380€ few weeks ago on ebay)

konastinky888 replied... on 10 June 2009

no way, the GT idrive bikes are better. at the time it was good but not now.

ashley_photog replied... on 4 January 2009

Was actually the best suspension design GT ever made, and rode fantastically. though I do agree it was a little ungainly, though the smaller frames look better.
