Ive had one of these as my firs Dirt Bike, loads went wrong because i used it for DH...
-Snapped Rear wheel axle
-Crank Bearings disintergrated
-Brakes messed up
do not re-build this bike, just dont bother! Its a good bike to start with, all my m8s used to have X-rated, they did them up, got new bikes and never rode the x-rated again! Good pic though!
i started on a appolo bike just last year then it got niked thank good got a haro therd 8 i wasted like £300 in just like in repairs and parts this was one of the worst mistakes of my life but my grandad got me it so i loved it but respect for you il give you 5 rate mine back
cant be that bad thought mine was bad but still riding it any way but looking for a new frame and crank when i get some £££££££ party on man lol its the effort that counts mate
People fail to realise that not every single eff'ing biker HAS to have a mega expensive bike, I mean it aint a rule! If you're careful with ANY budget bike and understand the bike's limits (i.e not for serious dirt jumping etc), and you love biking, then what the hell does it matter?!
Totally agree, everyone needs to start somewhere, at least the he is out riding. I know guys that have got £3000 bikes that just sit in the garge and collect dust, not been ridden in 2 years.
Consider yourself extremely lucky i am even leaving a comment oh do them pedals have reflectors on them..... kool and the ones on the wheels my opinion you could do with some new
Frame-Forks-Wheels-Cranks-Pedals-BB-Tyres+Tubes-Bars-Stem-Seatpost-Seat
The only thing you should keep from this if you really love it that much is the reflectors
im trying to ignore the fact its an apollo........ nope cant do that, can i ask WHYYYYYY????? couldnt you have saved up n got something better, this is jus apollo trying to be cool, and it fails miserably, heres what id upgrade on it though... id chuck this off a cliff or in a river and go to a decent bike shop and see what they got n saaaaave up though u could keep the tyres and reflectors off this, sorry for being reli mean but you bought an apollo so you deserve it in a light hearted joke kinda way good on ya for going the hardtail route though
i will say this
good points bad points.
the wheels dont brake to say there cheap just dont brake.
the front disc brake for a machanicle if set up propperly work really well.
now the downside.
i snapped 2 frames in the space of 3 months :P
the mech hangers snap constantly
the gears fuck up unless you change the deralure
and the bars bend if you jump owt over 10ft
but all in all i say for LIGHT andi mean LIGHT DJ/XC this bike will do you until your ready for a big toy :P
10 because it reminds me of the 6 teeth im missing ;)
Im being nice, these are really heavy. You have guts petting that bike on here. My mate broke his first time he used it, got a refund and bought a P1 of ebay.
lol i duno y ppl r sayin u need a new frame if u gunna get new frame u might aswell get a new bike, coz really this is only a starter bike, but it is a good starter bike. it will do the job :)
i have one of these except mine was built in a shed with the frame being the best part, lets be honest thats sayin sumthin. it was stolen once they brought it bk & told me it needed work. but hey yours works better than the saracen amplitude iv got at the mo!
no offence or anything here i had the slightly cheaper £40 model of that and the only difference i can spot from this angle is the front forks and disc brake on the front
still got the bog standard rear gear mech and v type brake
in other matter its a good bike to start off on as mine lasted a year urs probly last a bit longer
Did you use the same frame to fit the Back disk brake or did you switch to the kona to fit the back disk brake. beacuse im in the situation of buying two disc brake wheels and needing to buy a disk brake for the back of the xrated 50. unless you can recomend me a frame for less thatn £80 because its the last of my budget
