So much more potential, yes, but not in the drivetrain. I LOVE running it singlespeed, climbing is far easier than I thought & downhill you don't have to think about shifting & never seems to be to easy or hard to pedal, then there's the money you save on hangers, derailleurs, the weight, time to set everything up, I just love the simplicity! Each to their own though, I don't think I'll be switching back in a hurry.
