After ~6 months of shopping around for bargain parts, I finally have my XC racer up and running:

Tyres Continental Mountain King UST
Shifters SRAM X-0
Front derailleur Shmano XT
Rear derailleur SRAM X-0

Bottom bracket FSA ceramic BB30
Seatpost Race Face Evolve XC

9.047kg with the Mountain King UST tyres (700g a piece + sealant)... should be sub 9kg when I sort out some decent race tyres.

Bargain parts? You've got a funny idea of what a bargain is. That's an amazingly nice build but I couldn't ride it without worrying about snapping with my pie loaded heft. I'm sure it's strong enough but I like something a bit more weighty and less agile.
