my ride in 1998, some of the more 'special' retro parts include a set of cnc cranks by L&M components (made in the UK), hope big'un front hub, 7 stem - made by rob kitchen of animal / giant fame iirc, x-lite saddle (i'd still use one now if i could find a black one), ac components DH chain ring 44 tooth i think. looks very retro now, but if i still had the frame i'd still use it now - unfortunatly it was stolen about 3 months after the photo was taken.

this takes me back, never thought much about those dual crown rock shox, they seemed a bit pointless considering they were only 4in travel (if I remeber right) wasn't the frame design lisenced from Turner? as they were very similar.
skinheadjc replied... on 21 January 2009
Yeah, The Judy XL's were a bit pointless(but i had bought them very cheap at Bike 98), they didnt work as well as zocki's so i changed the forks for z1's about a month or so after taking this pick (and the stem for a shorter one).
The Horst link was licenced (cant remebr who from, specilzied more than likly), but all of the frame parts were made by Chuck in house in the US, with the frame fabricated in a simmilar way to Mountain Cycle, two pressed sheets of Ali welded together, as were the chain and seat stays.

Haha the price doesn't exactly mean it's good mate... and jesus when and why did you £2300 for that... haha!
DoctorBobrick replied... on 14 October 2008
Jeebus lol, i'da given it a 10 if I'd realised
skinheadjc replied... on 2 August 2008
the frame was £1500, forks around £500, cranks £150, stem £110 etc. so yeah it was pretty high end - total rrp at 3300, cost me about 2300 as i bought 80% at the Bike98 show.
