That's an utterly beautiful bike, Klein were the Bentley of bikes at the time. the finish on them was fantastic! shame the rear suspension wasn't that great, but still would have loved to have ridden one.
Mantra's are lovely bikes. only had a brief ride on one. there was a carbon version that looked very slick. the paint work on the kleins was always amazing.
Since I can rate my own bike :
10 on 10 for the awesome paintjob, the stiffness and the overall look : no bike could compete at that time (late 90s). I miss it, mostly for the look, its ride was a bit surprizing...
I always loved Kleins, and this is a beauty! The pearlescent paint job was always a winner for me, but burnt orange works too.
Shame you sold it and opted for a Trek Y frame, are you a glutten for punishment with URT's?!
Lol... The TREK Y50 was the first to be bough then I bought this one. But for X-country, Trek (at 10.5kg was unbeatable). All in all, I sold all of them (yes, a shame...) to buy a Voetc (my dream bike!). If you have time, have a look on it !
Freeride wasn't invented when this bike was the one everyone was drooling over. Always loved the look of them, and the fantastic paint jobs!
U sold it?
What did you get instead?
Yes I sold it, I had a trek Y50 that was stolen. I bought the Klein to have a FS. When the police found the thief, I had to sell this one and then bought a Klein Adroit (same fantastic color but rigid). Then later, I sold both Trek and Klein to buy my Votec C9 (you can have a look on them in "my bikes"). thanks for your kind comment.
Ok then, some people grab pictures of bikes on the internet and try to pass them off as their own. Not the case here.
Ignore my previous rating, if I could then I'd change it to a 10. Used to love these things when they first came out. The 2 tone paint is awesome. Saw a purple/green one a few months back just done the road from where I live. What happened to Klein? They used to make excellent frames.
Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Very nice bike but a very surprising suspension : work only when you're sitted on it ! Perfect for climbing moutains but not for freeride.

Is this who you bought it off: http://velospace.org/node/26255, how come this is the before picture?

thanks oodboo. the purple green was awesome indeed ! The late 90s bikes were beautifull, later they just did rubbish when they enter in TREK's group.

i sold it. Thought "my ride" space can be open to all the bikes we got. At the time I had it, it didn't take shot of it.
