bought the Banshee as a starter bike for my son, yes halfords service is terrible but as a cheap starter bike goes i am still actually impressed with this, how well it rides and the abuse it has stood up to

My lad started out on a Banshee and they are fantastic for the money!!! Kona design bought by Carrera/Halfords when they changed design. The rear sus is really plush.
As my coment on your wifes bike, see if she enjoys a full sus before changing her forks, get her on this....

my son has recently discovered the joys of women and has temporarily abandoned his bike. its been getting all the cast off's from the Norco as i upgrade it so by the time he is ready to get his leg back over this instead of the girlfreind it should be a pretty sweet ride for him. may just use it as a loaner for the wife in the meantime actually
