Built up from a very tatty frame (looked like it had been in a ditch for a year) no component is as originally fitted by Carrera!
Frame: 2006 Carrera Kraken stripped, primed and resprayed in Ford Metallic purple
Forks, RST Gila air with rebound adjust
Headset: FSA Cartridge
Stem: Bikehut (my daughters nicked the DDG in the photo for 4xing)
Bars: ABR alloy
Shifters: Front SRAM X7, rear Deore
Brakes: Avid Juicy 5 (180 front, 160 rear) photo is when it was on mech' discs
Seatpost: Promax carbon
Saddle: Charge Spoon
Clamp: Unbranded QR in black allow that came with the frame
Mechs: Front Deore LX, rear XT
Cranks: Deore LX on UN54 BB
Chainwheels: Truvative Trushift (outer/middle in 7005 alloy, inner steel), outer now replaced with an E13 clear Poly Bash
Front wheel: Promax hub, 'Essex pro' rim, Shimano Deore QR
Rear wheel: Spesh hub with Spesh/Alex branded rim, Shimano Deore QR
Cassette: Suntour
Pedals: Xpedo falt/SPD (not in photo)
Tyres: Michelin dry mountain2 (kevlar bead) with Schwalbe tubes
The bike is work in progress (you may have guessed by the changes from the photo), it has cost me just under

nice bike man - love the colour
might be worth looking at some new front forks at some stage though?
some rockshox would be pretty cheap off ebay and would improve performance

Thanks, the forks are better than you may think (better than the Suntours fitted on £600 Spesh's), but yes some decent Fox/Rockshox are high on the list, just after new wheels!
